Srinagar Dec 23: In a bid to enhance community engagement and accessibility to government welfare schemes, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has extended its impactful Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) to cover Ward-33 in Huhama.
The VBSY initiative, known for its inclusive approach, hosted the “Meri Kahani Meri Zubani” event, providing a platform for beneficiaries to share their success stories and experiences with various government welfare schemes. This not only showcased the positive impact of these initiatives but also encouraged community members to avail themselves of these benefits.
A range of essential services was made available during the event, including free health check-ups, Aadhar card registration, and the generation/registration of Ayushman cards. These services aimed to ensure convenient access for residents in need, promoting overall well-being within the community.
One of the highlights of the program was an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) van that featured informative short films spotlighting key government welfare initiatives. These initiatives included PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, PM Svanidhi, Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradan Mantari Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, and more. The films served to educate and create awareness about the various schemes available to the residents.
The event concluded with a collective pledge, “Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat,” taken by key officials and staff involved in the initiative. Among those who took the pledge were Abdul Majeed (Ward Officer, Humhama), Abdul Hamid (Sanitation Officer), Mudasir Banday (Incharge/Nodal Office, VBSY), Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh (Sanitary Inspector), Nisar Ahmad (Building Inspector), Nighat Shaheen (Building Inspector), Gulam Mohd Dar (Sanitary Supervisor), Abdul Hamid Sheikh (Sanitary Supervisor), Bilal Ahmad (Sanitary Supervisor), and other dedicated staff.
The pledge ceremony was attended by representatives from various line departments, showcasing a collaborative effort to bring positive change to the community. Enthusiastic participants from the locality expressed their support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in building a developed and empowered Bharat.
