Srinagar, March 17: Facilities for promotion of health & welfare of students at main campus Shalimar were thrown open and dedicated to students by Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai in presence of officers of the University, students, non-teaching staff.
The step is in-line with SKUAST-K going global initiative to attract international students. On the occasion, Prof. Ganai highlighted the importance of health and well-being of students alongwith their overall personality development.
He congratulated the students for achieving newer heights in extra-curricular activities, which is possible only when students are in good health. The recreational park named after the Sufi Saint Hazrat Mehboob-ul-Alam(RA) is expected to promote group discussions besides providing a relaxing environment.
To empower students to express their ideas, the students of SKUAST-K from all the faculties/colleges were encouraged to contribute their creative writings in student’s magazine YAWUN of which 2nd volume was also released by the Vice Chancellor.
The winners of various sports events of the recently held “Mega Sports Festival” organized by Department of Students Welfare were also felicitated on the occasion.
