Bandipora, March 19: The body of a mentally unsound person was recovered on Sunday in the Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official told Rising Kashmir that a male body was found at nallah in Sumbal by locals who later informed the police. He said the police team reached the spot and shifted the body to the nearest hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The official identified the body as Ishfaq Ahmad, son of Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Vijpara Hajin. After conducting the legal-medico formalities, the body was later handed over to legal heirs for last rites, he said.
The family said the deceased was mentally unsound and was missing from March 12 from Mental Hospital Rainawari in Srinagar.
