DC Ganderbal presides over grievance redressal camp at Wakura

Ganderbal, Oct 18: Continuing with its endeavor to redress the grievances of the people at their doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir on Wednesday convened a Grievance Redressal Camp as a part of weekly Block Diwas programme here at Tehsil building Wakura.
The program was attended by prominent citizens and PRI of block Wakura who apprised the DC about grievances and developmental needs in their respective areas.
Locals put forth their issues relating to problems particularly development of existing roads, up gradation of PHC, up gradation of infrastructure of Govt. High School, facilities at Tehsil Office Wakura, early commissioning of water supply scheme for Wakura, dredging of Dub Canal, up gradation of drainage system and other issues of public importance.
 While replying to the demand for dredging of Dub Canal, the DC said that district administration has taken several steps including dredging and repair works of the canal and appealed to the people to refrain from throwing waste into the water bodies to keep them neat and clean.
The DC maintained that the door to door waste collection process has already started in all the blocks of the district and appealed to the locals to use dustbins for waste collection and ensure cleanliness around their surroundings. He appealed to all households and business establishments to timely pay monthly payment for waste collection.
The District Administration also maintained that district administration is organizing a mega Job fair under Berozgar Mukt Ganderbal, on 20 October, 2023 at Manasbal in which over 20 companies are participating and urged local unemployed youth to participate actively in the job fair. 
He also sought cooperation from locals in establishing various government programs successfully on the ground including Nasha Mukt, Swachta Hi Sewa, Berozgar Mukt and other flagship programs.
On the occasion, BDC Chairperson Wakura highlighted the developmental works registered in the last five years due to which the landscape of the Block has changed and appreciated several departments for their commendable job especially R&B, PDD, RDD and others.
He also appreciated the Social Welfare Department, Agriculture and other allied Departments for the saturation of various beneficiary-oriented schemes in block Wakura which are aimed at providing socio-economic support to the downtrodden people. 
Additional District Development Commissioner, Muhstaq Ahmad Simnani, Chief Planning Officer, Irfan Giri; Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Bashir Ahmad, DSWO, DSHO, and officials of other line departments also attended the Block Diwas.
