Mumbai, Feb 21: The Income Tax Department has refunded an amount of Rs 21,740.77 crores to the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on February 15, 2024. This refund pertains to multiple Assessment Years, including 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20.
The total refund amount received by LIC for these Assessment Years was Rs 25,464.46 crores, the Corporation said in a statement, adding that it is still pursuing the remaining balance with the Income Tax Department.
