Srinagar, Apr 25: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday visited the bereaved Shaheen family at Pir Bagh Srinagar to offer his condolences on the demise of former MLC and ex-Provincial President of the party, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen.
Accompanying Dr Farooq were senior leaders Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Mubarak Gul, Dr Sameer Koul and Mir GM Saqi. On the occasion, he offered solidarity with the bereaved, including Sara Hayat Shah, Yawar Hayat Shah and Salman Ali Sagar.
The NC chief offered prayers for the departed soul and expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved household, especially Yawar, Sarah, and their mother. He fondly remembered the late Shaheen’s unwavering dedication to the party, particularly during challenging times, highlighting his ability to unite party members and connect with grassroots workers as a defining moment in his career, especially post-1996.
Following the visit, Dr Abdullah offered Friday congregational prayers at Asar-e-Sharif Dargah Hazratbal.
