Jammu, Jan 17: “The healthcare sector in India has witnessed a revolutionary transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Priya Sethi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Executive Member and former minister said on Friday.
Addressing a medical camp organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Motor Vehicles Department in connection with National Road Safety Month, Sethi said the Modi government has prioritised healthcare as a fundamental right, ensuring access to quality medical facilities for all.
“Schemes like Ayushman Bharat, the expansion of AIIMS, and increased medical infrastructure have made healthcare affordable and accessible even in the remotest regions,” she remarked.
Priya, who was the chief guest at the event, highlighted that initiatives like National Road Safety Month are not just about traffic regulations but also about safeguarding the health and well-being of road users, especially transport workers and drivers who spend long hours on the road. The medical camp provided free health checkups, including screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, vision, and general health, benefiting a large number of participants.
The BJP leader urged people to avail the benefits of government healthcare schemes and adopt a proactive approach to their health. She commended the efforts of the Motor Vehicles Department and the medical fraternity for organizing such initiatives that directly impact public welfare.
Ashu Gupta, Convenor Transport Cell, Ramesh Tak, Adarsh Jathiar Mandal East and Arun Sethi were also present. Senior officials from the department, medical professionals, and stakeholders from the transport sector attended the camp, reinforcing the collective commitment to health and road safety. The event concluded with a pledge to continue organizing such programs, ensuring that healthcare remains a priority in the Modi government’s vision of a “Healthy and Safe India.”
