Baramulla, Aug 08: District Employment and Counselling Centre Baramulla in collaboration with Government Degree College Tangmarg on Thursday organised a Job Fair cum Mission Youth Self Employment Mela within the college premises.
The job fair is part of major employment drives being conducted across the district in coordination with SDMS/BDOs to saturate the Mission Youth schemes especially MUMKIN, Tejaswani and Spurring Entrepreneurs Initiative (SEI).
The Sub Divisional Magistrate Tangmarg, Altaf Mohsvi, in the presence of Principal Government Degree College Tangmarg and officers from the employment department, inaugurated the multifaceted event aimed at connecting job seekers with a diverse array of employers.
The fair featured the participation of 10 renowned companies spanning local and national employers, representing diverse industries including aviation, manufacturing, insurance, hospitality and others, collectively offering over 400 job vacancies to the youth of the district.
A total of 176 job seekers hailing from different corners of the Tangmarg participated in the event in which after a rigorous interview and vetting process 36 candidates were shortlisted for the next round of interviews.
Besides the job fair, officials from the employment department, Baramulla held intensive awareness sessions about Mission Youth schemes and 18 candidates were registered on-spot under different schemes of the Mission.
