Baramulla, Aug 06: In a heartwarming gesture of hope amid tragedy, a resident of Duroo Sopore, inaugurated a medical clinic ‘Ahmad Memorial Medicate’ on Sunday, to provide primary healthcare services to the locals of the area.
The clinic, located in Duroo, Sopore, has been established by Zubair Hassan Bhat in memory of his son, who tragically lost his life to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Zubairs’s determination to give back to society and honour his son’s memory shone through as he chose to mark the clinic’s inauguration by organizing a free medical camp for the Zaingeer belt of Sopore.
The medical camp, organized in collaboration with dedicated doctors and volunteers, witnessed an overwhelming response from the community.
More than 1000 people from the Zaingeer belt of Sopore participated in the camp, where they received free medical check-ups, essential tests, and medicines on the first day.
Zubair Hassan, while sharing his motivation behind establishing the clinic said, “Losing my son due to the lack of healthcare facilities in the area was a devastating experience. It made me realize the importance of accessible healthcare services for every individual. I wanted to ensure that no parent has to suffer the same loss due to the absence of medical facilities.
Zubair’s journey to establish the Ahmad Memorial Medicate was not without challenges, but his determination and dedication paid off, as the clinic now promises to offer top-notch healthcare services to the community.
The clinic will be staffed by reputable and qualified doctors, eliminating the need for residents to travel to Srinagar or Sopore for medical treatments that are now available locally.
Warpora Police Chowki incharge Yousuf ul Umar and dignitaries were among those present at the clinic’s inauguration, praising Zubair’s efforts to address the healthcare needs of the region.
Looking ahead, Zubair expressed his commitment to conducting more free medical camps for the people and society, further emphasizing his desire to serve and contribute positively to the community.
