Srinagar, Feb 19: The Institute of Business and Policy Research (IBPR), SKUAST-Kashmir, organised a knowledge exchange program to share ideas on “Aligning Efforts and Administration towards Inclusive and Effective Governance” at its Shalimar Campus. This program aimed to put in place data driven inclusive transformative governance across different sectors of the economy. The program was graced by Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), District Magistrate & District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, as the Chief Guest. Prof. S. A. Wani, Director Planning & Monitoring, Prof. Rehana Habib Kanth, Director Extension, Prof. S. H. Baba, Head IBPR and other distinguished scientific staff participated in the event.
The event commenced with an opening remarks by Prof. S. H. Baba, who Baba provided a comprehensive overview of the program’s objectives, emphasizing its critical role in fostering data-centric policy execution. He highlighted the growing significance of data analytics and evidence-based governance. He illustrated the need for collaboration and integrated approach for addressing policy-governance problems.
Prof. S. A. Wani dealt with in-depth insights into the transformation of policy frameworks, emphasising the pivotal role of empirical evidence and advanced analytics in ensuring effective policy implementation. Prof. Rehana Habib Kanth, Director Extension, underscored the transformative power of data analytics in governance and policy execution. She advocated for the development of capacity-building programs designed to equip policymakers and researchers with the necessary analytical skills to interpret and apply data-driven insights.
Athar Aamir Khan (IAS) in his address provided strategic insights on proactive leadership, community-driven governance, and innovation in policy execution. He elaborated on the core tenets of governance, policy innovation, and leadership competencies.
