The Jammu & Kashmir has allotted 53 kanals of state land to the paramilitary Central Reserve of Police Force (CRPF) for setting-up a battalion camping site in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The Revenue department of J&K government has transferred 53 kanals and three Marlas of land to the CRPF’s 53 battalion at Kitchama in Baramulla district after the administrative council headed by LG approved the proposal during its meeting held on June 07.

The land has been transferred to the paramilitary force in terms of provisions of Rule 310 of General Financial Rules, 2017 against payment of Rs three crore and 44 lakh rupees.

According to the Revenue department’s order, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the CRPF shall adhere to all provisions of laws relating to Revenue/ Housing & Urban Development Department, Forest and J&K Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, 2010 before utilization of the land.

As per terms and conditions, the CRPF shall take possession of the land within 30 days from the transfer order and the land be put to use within three years failing which the land shall revert back to Government—(KNO)
