Srinagar, Dec 21: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a substantial enhancement in the power scenario across the Kashmir Valley, with a commendable supply of 1600-1700 Megawatts.
Chief Engineer Er Javid Yousuf highlighted the positive impact of this additional power supply, resulting in a marked improvement in the overall situation. In an interview with Rising Kashmir, Er Javid Yousuf emphasised the KPDCL’s commitment to adhering to its schedule, ensuring the consistent provision of electricity to both metered and non-metered areas.
Yousuf noted the increased efforts against power theft, signaling a proactive stance to curb such activities in the Valley. He underlined the KPDCL’s dedication to taking legal action against repeat offenders involved in power theft.
In addressing challenges, Yousuf mentioned intensified efforts to combat power theft in non LTAP cable areas. Ground teams are actively engaged in tackling these illegal activities, reflecting the corporation’s commitment to ensuring a fair and uninterrupted power supply.
Highlighting positive developments, Yousuf revealed that areas serviced by LTAP cables now benefit from round-the-clock power supply, achieving a significant milestone in the region’s energy distribution.
However, he acknowledged the persistence of power theft in non-LTAP areas, assuring the public that authorities are actively involved in addressing and rectifying these issues.
