Budgam, Oct 29: The Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Beerwah has treated a total of 405 cases of dog bites from March 01 ,2024 till October 24, 2024, officials said.
According to official statistics, the hospital treated 33 dog bite cases in March, followed by 39 cases in April, 61 in May, 59 in June, and 54 in July.
In the month of August, 37 dog bite cases were treated, while September saw an increase with 62 cases, and October recorded 60 cases.
The data indicates that September had the highest number of reported cases, whereas May had the lowest.
An official from the Sub-District Hospital Beerwah informed Rising Kashmir that over the past eight months, the hospital has also treated two cases of leopard bites and one case of bear attack, in addition to the 403 dog bite cases.
“All 405 patients received the Anti-Rabies Vaccine (ARV) and necessary treatment during their time at the hospital,” officials said.
