Srinagar, Apr 09: Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department has stated that all entry level faculty posts of GMC Baramulla have been referred to J&K Public Service Commission for advertisement and for selection of suitable candidates.
The information was shared in the Legislative Assembly in response to a starred question by MLA Irfan Hafeez Lone concerning several health care facilities in Baramulla.
“292 vacancies in the non- gazetted/paramedical category from Directorate of Family Welfare, Maternity and Child Health (MCH), and Immunization have also been referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) for recruitment,” the house was informed.
The reply said the department is also in process of operating a wait list in respect of 91 selected medical officers, whose services will also be utilized in the underserved areas across UT J&K.
“Besides, 181 numbers of posts of Medical Officers are still to be received from the J & K Public service Commission. Upon receiving the selections, the selectee doctors will be posted at the health institutions experiencing staff shortage. Recruitment to all other vacant posts is under consideration in the Department,” it said.
On steps being taken to improve healthcare services Wagoora-Kreeri constituency the reply said in order to improve health care services in Wagoora-Kreeri Constituency of Baramulla considerable PHCs, NTPHCs and SCs have been upgraded as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
In response to a query on steps being taken for SDH Tangmarg, the reply said the hospital is functioning from Govt. building, with all facilities available. It stated that the construction of an additional labour room has been taken up under Capex and is targeted for completion in 2025-26.
The house was informed that CHC Pattan is functioning from Govt. Building with all the facilities available viz, USG, ECG, CBC, X-Ray, Urine examination, CR System, Dental Unit and functional OT.
In reply to another question it said PHC Tarzoo is functioning 24×7 in Govt. building with all necessary facilities available viz, ECG, X-ray, Urine Analyzer, CBC, dental unit etc.
The department plans to make high-end diagnostics available in all new GMCs in a phased manner including GMC Baramulla. Moreover Cath Lab is prioritised for GMC Baramulla for FY 2025-26.
“NTPHC Resraipora is functioning from rented accommodation. The land identification process is under way and the department shall explore the construction of the Building once the encumbrance free land is made available,” the reply said.
