Jammu, Feb 06: Rural Artisans Welfare Society, Jammu on Monday organized a one-day workshop for the development of handicrafts and handicraft artisans at Hari Niwas Palace, Jammu. The workshop was organized to provide knowledge of different handicraft development schemes to the artisans of J&K.
The workshop was sponsored by the Development Commissioner for Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles Government of India. The officials present during the workshop provided related information about various schemes meant for artisans in their respective departments.
The representative of a bank, e-marketing company and chartered accountants were also part of the workshop as professional experts and resource persons. The workshop proved to be very beneficial for handicraft artisans.
The program was attended by Pawan Raina, Anirudh Kapil and Ambika Sambyal, Assistant Directors of Development Commissioner for Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
Other officials who attended the workshop were Gulam Abbas Joint Director, Central Bureau of Communication, Anil Sharma Assistant Director KVIC, Sonika Parihar, Assistant Director J&K Handicrafts Department.
