Jammu, Jan 07: As the security agencies are reviewing the Call Detail Records (CDR) of the people previously held by the Police who are allegedly accused of helping and sheltering the terrorists, over dozen people have bee detained for questioning in connection with a recent terror attack at Dhangri village in Rajouri district that left six civilians dead, sources said on Saturday.
After receiving some vital hints while questioning the detained suspects, the security agencies are also looking into other side also outside the Call Detail Records of the last more than a month, according to sources.
Reliable sources reported that “during intensive questioning of the suspects over the past few days, the security agencies have obtained some vital clues and some more people are likely to be detained for questioning in order to track down the terrorists who carried out the barbaric attack and killed 6 innocent civilians in Dhangri Village of Rajouri District on January 1 and 2.”
“Not only CDRs, we are also probing some other things from the suspects who have already been detained for helping and sheltering the terrorists who killed six innocent civilians in Dhangri Village of Rajouri District,” SSP Rajouri, Mohd Aslam, informed Rising Kashmir adding, “Some more people in this connection may also be detained for questioning”.
More than 18 persons have been detained by the Police for questioning who are suspected to have helped the terrorists involved in killing .
All the detained suspects are locals. Among these detained suspects is some woman and a naib sarpanch. Meanwhile, sources informed that Army, Police and CRPF have launched a intense joint search operation in over a dozen villages and forests of Rajouri to hunt down the terrorists.
“As a well chalked out strategy, the security forces are keeping a strict vigil on the routes which lead to the Kashmir valley and there is a possibility of terrorists escaping to the valley,,” they said.
From the CDRs of the detained suspects, the security agencies are trying to zero in on the persons with whom they remained in contact during the last more than a month, they said.
