Srinagar, Nov 16: Government Degree College (GDC) Pattan’s College Red Cross Committee in collaboration with BMO Pattan organized one-day awareness programme on “Breast Cancer-Detection and Diagnosis” on Wednesday.
The programme commenced with the inaugural and welcome address by the Incharge Principal, Prof Saffiya Khalil (HoD, Chemistry), who, in her address stress upon the importance of conducting such awareness programmes for the benefit of the students.
Dr Summiya M Khan, Medical Officer SDH, Pattan was the resource person of the session, who deliberated on the theme in length. She explained the symptoms, risk factors, detection and treatment of this fatal disease. Her session was followed by the question- answer session by the students and the faculty.
A certificate of appreciation was presented to her on the occasion. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Mohammad Amin Malik, HoD Political Science. The proceedings were conducted by Prof Sajad Sarvar, HoD Zoology. Prof As-Sami, HoD English acted as the Rapporteur of the programme. The programme was attended by the faculty members including Dr Asiya Nazir Khan (NSS Programme Officer), Dr Sobia Bazaz, Prof Nayeem A Shah among others and the NSS Volunteers.
