Jammu, May 06: In a significant development regarding the terror attack on IAF convoy, the J&K Police, with the help of experts, on Monday prepared the sketch of the terrorists and released it in public domain.
Moreover, the forces have announced a reward for those providing reliable information about the terrorists involved in the attack. Pertinent to mention , the terror attack had occurred in Poonch area of Jammu region on 4th of this month in which one soldier was killed while four others were injured.
“The release of sketches and announcement of reward (bounty) is the domain of local police i.e JKP”, Defence PRO, SuneelBartwal told Rising Kashmir.
Based on reliable inputs and information provided by credible sources, the JKP released sketches of two terrorists responsible for the attack on IAF vehicles in J&K’s Poonch district.
The Police has also announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for those who provide reliable and credible information about the terrorists who attacked the IAF convoy.
Meanwhile, sources said that more than 1300 security personnel of joint security forces including Army, CRP and JKP have encircled the dense forest area where the terrorists have been hiding after the attack.
This dense forest area, encircled by the security forces to hunt down the terrorists is around 15 sqKms.
“The investigating agencies have issued sketches of the terrorists and further investigation is on,” SSP Poonch, YougalManhas, informed Rising Kashmir.
One air warrior, Corporal NikkyPahadem, was martyred, while four other IAF warriors were injured when terrorists attacked IAF vehicles in the Bakrabal (Sanai) area of Surankote in Poonch on May 4.
Meanwhile, Police have detained around 20 people for questioning so far and a massive cordon and search operation continues in Danna Top, Shahstar, Sheindra and Sanai Top areas of Poonch.
Sources said that an intense search operation has been launched jointly by the Army, CRPF and the JKP in the dense forests. Additional reinforcement has been called in besides para commandos have also been called to hunt down the terrorists.
