Srinagar, Apr 18: The tw-day NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Ambassador workshop was held at SKUAST Kashmir, led by an NVIDIA-certified instructor Dr. Ambreen Hamadani, Assistant Professor and Junior Scientist at SKUAST Kashmir.
This training session was organised by NVIDIA in collaboration with the Animal/Plant Modelling Lab, Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, SKUAST Kashmir.
NVIDIA is a global leader in accelerated computing, AI technologies, and advanced graphics processing solutions. During this intensive workshop, students explored core concepts of deep learning and gained practical experience in training neural networks. They worked with convolutional neural networks, implemented data augmentation, deployed pre-trained models, and even examined advanced architectures.
Prof. Nazir Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir, expressed his deep satisfaction with the training’s execution during the introductory session of the workshop. A strong advocate for the integration of technology in agriculture, he emphasised the importance of upskilling students. The unwavering support, exceptional guidance, and outstanding leadership of Prof. Ganai were highly appreciated by both the instructor and the students.
The introductory session was also attended by several notable individuals, including Prof. Rohitashv Kumar, Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Abdul Motaleb El Saddik from the University of Ottawa, Canada, Dr. Showkat Rasool, In-charge of CAIML, Dr. Mukesh Saini, Associate Professor at IIT Ropar, and other faculty members at CAIML: Dr. Ab Rouf Kha, Dr. Syed Rameem Zahra, Dr. Basharat Bhat, and Dr. Zamir Wani.Students found the training to be a fascinating experience, describing it as a great start for building a career in artificial intelligence.
