Jammu, Sept 17: In a remarkable achievement aimed at improving service delivery, volunteers at the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Jammu, are facilitating stakeholders and driving efficient processes. A standout example of this initiative is Sanjeev Kumar, a senior social security assistant at EPFO, who processed a record 1,124 claims in a single day.
Starting his day at 12:01 AM, Sanjeev worked tirelessly until 11:59 PM, setting a new benchmark for claim settlements across EPFO offices nationwide. By 6:17 AM, he had already processed 300 claims, and by 7:44 AM, the number rose to 400. By the end of the day, his count had reached the historic figure of 1,124 claims.
Kumar consistently apprised officials of his progress, including Programmer Ashwani Kumar and PF Commissioner Rizwan Uddin. Uddin, who has been a strong advocate of improved service delivery, praised Kumar’s dedication. Under Uddin’s leadership, the EPFO office in Jammu has addressed several challenges and unforeseen circumstances, making Kumar’s feat even more commendable.
Sanjeev Kumar joined the Jammu office in 2021 from EPFO Goa and has since become a key figure in the organisation’s service delivery improvement efforts. Despite facing internal challenges, including resistance from some peers, his consistent performance has garnered support from Uddin. His efforts reflect EPFO’s broader emphasis on a customer-centric approach, ensuring quicker fund transfers for members in exigent circumstances.
The Jammu office has also focused on other key areas, such as helping employers update mobile numbers and reducing the return rejection ratio, which currently stands at 15.92%, well below the national average of 22-24%. Commissioner Uddin’s efforts to monitor and rectify claims rejections, along with speedy corrections of members’ details, have further enhanced the office’s service delivery.
Kumar’s record-setting performance serves as an inspiration for his colleagues, with Commissioner Uddin presenting him with the book “Mindset” as a token of appreciation for his exceptional service.
