Srinagar, Nov 06: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Waheed Ur Rehman Parra on Wednesday said his party supports the resolution on Article 370 passed in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, calling it a “reflection” of the people’s aspirations. He, however, said the party had expected a stronger and more forceful resolution from the National Conference-led government.
Talking to Rising Kashmir, Parra said the people of J&K do not support the decision of August 5, 2019. This resolution marks the beginning of reclaiming what we have lost, he said.
“We wish it had been worded more strongly, opposing the August 5 decision outright and clearly demanding the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. Still, this is a good move, and we welcome it,” he said.
The MLA Pulwama added, “The message is already clear: we want the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.”
