Snow ski training gets underway at Yousmarg

Budgam Feb 01: The Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K started its annual training in the world-famous sport of snow skiing for the 1st batch of Boys on the newly explored ski slopes of Yousmarg on Wednesday here.
 
The training course in the adventure sport was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Budgam Syed Fakrudin Hamid in presence of Joint Director (Kashmir) of the Department Bashir Ahmad, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Budgam Gurmukh Singh Dutta and other senior officers and officials of the Department.
 
In his address, DC Budgam congratulated & encouraged the participants for their interest in the training of the sport. He stressed the young trainees to work hard during the course to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills of the sport.
 
DYSSO Budgam briefed the participants regarding such initiatives of the Department under which youth are being engaged in productive activities. He also highlighted the achievements of the YSS Department and instructed the trainers to show utmost dedication during the organisation of the course. He also instructed his colleagues to provide every possible facility to the students during the entire course. He thanked the Administration of District Budgam for their support and cooperation in making the course possible at the busiest tourist destination. 
 
Pertinently 60 boy students from various Government schools of the Kashmir division are taking part in the 15 days long course. Such courses are a regular affair of the Department of Youth Services and Sports and are being run under the supervision of the Director of Youth Services & Sports J&K Subash C Chhibber in order to train aspiring students in the world-famous sport and in order to prepare and produce youth to take up this skill in a professional manner at national and international levels.
 
 Besides others, Olympian Gul Mustafa Dev, Shabir Ahmad Wani former Assistant Director of the Department of YSS were also present in the impressive inaugural ceremony of the camp.
