Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday seized 10 illicit timber planks and arrested timber smuggler at Bijhama area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Spokesperson said that Baramulla Police under the supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr Mudasir Nazar, SHO PS Bijhama arrested timber smuggler namely Mohd Shafi Dar S/O Ab Razak Dar R/O Lachipora-A Bijhama who is being involved in cutting down illicit forest timber and were selling at higher rates.10 Illicit wooden planks forest timber was recovered from his possession in Bijhama.
He said that case under sections of Indian Forest Act registered in Police Station Bijhama and investigation set in motion.
