Ganderbal, Aug 16: Ganderbal Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a 20-year-old woman from River Sindh at Pathribal Rayil area of Gund in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official said that they were informed that there was a body floating in River Sindh he said after receiving the information Gund Police along the team of SDRF Component immediately reached the said location.
He said that after a lot of hard work, the body of a 20-year-old woman (Name withheld) was recovered from Sindh.She was residing in Kullan Gund.
He said after completing the medico legal formalities the body has been handed over to her family for last rites.
Meanwhile Gund police has started an investigation by filing a case in this regard.
In another case, the body of a teenager boy who died after he drowned in a Nallah Sindh at Wayil Manigam area in central Kashmir’s district was fished out by police with the help of locals.
The deceased identified as Haziq Imtiyaz Bhat (12), son of Imtiyaz Ahmad of Manigam Ganderbal drowned while taking a bath near Wayil area in Nallah Sindh on Wednesday.
Soon after the incident police, locals started a rescue operation to retrieve the body and after hectic efforts the body of the teenager was fished out from the river.
Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation has been taken up.
