Operationalise NeVA before upcoming Budget session: CM

JAMMU, DEC 10: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today directed officials to ensure the operationalisation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) before the upcoming budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
The instruction was given during a review meeting of the Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs at the Civil Secretariat.
The meeting, attended by Advisor to the CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Gupta, and other senior officials, also focused on the functioning of the High Court, subordinate courts, the Advocate General’s Office, and the Legislative Assembly. Key topics discussed included ongoing litigations, judicial staffing, e-courts, and the development of the Rs 908 crore New High Court Complex in Srinagar.
The Chief Minister was briefed on the sanctioned strength of the judiciary and discussed several critical issues, including ongoing litigations, e-stamping, e-courts, and the implementation of e-court fee systems.
The meeting also focused on other important matters, including the classification of laws, the appointment of officers in charge of litigations, the opinion and vetting of notifications, and the department’s achievements in 2023-24.
Additionally, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the Rs 908 crore New High Court Complex project in Srinagar, seeking updates on timelines, progress, and phase-wise completion. He stressed the importance of adhering to deadlines to ensure the timely delivery of this vital infrastructure.
