Jammu, Mar 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) has deferred the Computer Based Written Tests (CBT) due to multiple reasons, the main being that the pre-exam procedures could not be completed on time, chairman JKSSB official said.
The JKSSB wants to make it fool-proof that exams are conducted in a fair and transparent manner and therefore, after being fully assured, the Board will go ahead to conduct the exams, the Chairman said.
“There are multiple reasons for deferring the CBT exams but the main reason was that the pre-exam procedures could not be completed on time,” the SSB Chairman, Rajesh Sharma told Rising Kashmir
Adding, “The third party which had to audit and check the system software of every examination centre could not complete its task on time and sought some more time”.
The exams for the posts of Accounts Assistant (AA) and Junior Engineers (JE) were scheduled to be held from Wednesday.
The exams were to be held in a span of 20 days in 50 shifts across all the centres both in Jammu and Kashmir. A total of one lakh candidates had downloaded their admit cards and were supposed to appear in the exam.
“The third party, which was supposed to do the audit, could not check the software of all the computers across all the exam centres in J&K,” the JKSSB Chairman said adding, “the number of centres were also increased due to rise in number of aspirants which also became the reason for non-completion of pre-exam procedures on time”.
Meanwhile, officials said that those protesting against the JKSSB for hiring a blacklisted company, have also approached the Supreme Court.
In this regard, the JKSSB Chairman said that the Board doesn’t want the candidates to face any undue problem during the course of these 20 day long exams.
“The exams are to be held for 20 days and in 50 shifts,” JKSSB Chairman said adding, “We don’t want any inconvenience caused to the hard working candidates during the course of this period as some people have approached the Supreme Court”.
