In a transformative move, the “My School My Pride” initiative is leaving an indelible mark on government schools across Kishtwar district.
Spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, this initiative is a joint effort of the District Administration and the School Education Department.
The core objective of “My School My Pride” is to activate School Management Committees (SMCs) that have remained inactive in government schools for several years. These committees, comprising parents, teachers, and a PRI Member, play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the learning environment in government schools.
Dr. Devansh Yadav emphasized the proactive role of SMCs in beautifying the school walls with “Building as Learning Aids” (BALA) paintings. These paintings, funded voluntarily by parents, depict the learning journey of students in these schools. The initiative has gained momentum, with more than 800 government schools in the district set to benefit.
