Srinagar, Aug 17: The Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), a defence undertaking, on Saturday conducted a one-day Hindi workshop for its officers on August 17 to promote the use of the official language.
The event, according to a press release, was organised under the auspices of the Official Language Implementation Committee of MIDHANI.
The workshop was divided into four sessions, with Dr B. Balaji, Manager (Hindi Section and Corporate Communication) at MIDHANI, welcoming the participants and outlining the objectives of the workshop. He introduced the topics to be covered, including the Official Language Policy, Basic Tips for Hindi Typing on Computers, the Need for Successful Management, and Grammar of Official Hindi and Technical Terminology.
Dr Balaji delivered lectures on the Official Language Policy and Basic Tips for Hindi Typing on Computers in the first session. The third session featured a multimedia lecture by Dr Veer Raju, Chief Medical Officer and Deputy General Manager (Medical), on “The Story of the Rabbit and the Tortoise – A Management Perspective”. Dr Raju emphasised the importance of effective management, using the story as a metaphor to highlight the importance of teamwork, agility, intelligence, and coordination among employees.
The fourth session featured a lecture by Md Kamaluddin, Assistant Director (Retd) from the Hindi Teaching Scheme, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs. He discussed administrative terminology used in office work and the grammar of official Hindi, providing detailed information on the creation and origins of various administrative terms and offering practical exercises for their application.
D Ratnakumari, Junior Executive (NUS) of the Hindi Department, played a key role in ensuring the smooth organisation of the workshop. The event concluded with participants taking an oath to actively use the official language in their work.
The workshop aimed to promote the use of official language among MIDHANI officers and to enhance their skills in using Hindi in their daily work. It also provided an opportunity for participants to share their experiences and learn from each other’s expertise.
