‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ event resounds at Panchtarni

Anantnag, Aug 13: A vibrant and heartwarming series of events unfolded at the Panchtarni Base Camp as part of the nationwide ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign. The celebrations held at an altitude of over 12,000 feet, resonated with patriotic fervor and encapsulated the spirit of unity.
The highlight of the day was the magnificent Tiranga Rally, on foot and horseback, upto the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath ji, that ignited patriotic sentiments amongst the participants.
The rally was flagged off by Thakur Sher Singh, Camp Director Panchtarni, as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative of the Union Government, and was received by Pankaj Kumar Anand, Manik Singh Rathore and others deputed at the holy cave.
The festivities continued with various other programs, including the engaging selfie with tiranga, selfie with maati, and the panch pran pledge underscoring the commitment to make India a developed country, eliminating the mentality of slavery, being proud of our rich heritage, upholding unity and solidarity, fulfilling duties as citizens, and respecting those who protect the nation.  In the evening, a touching moment of remembrance took place with the lighting of diyas, where each diya symbolised the gratitude and respect for the bravehearts who have selflessly served and sacrificed for our nation.
The collective efforts and participation of civil and security agencies, Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims and stakeholders was instrumental in fostering this heartwarming journey of gratitude and remembrance, an endeavor to honor our valiant heroes and celebrate the extraordinary journey of India.
The events at Panchtarni under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, which serves as the concluding event of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ started with the unfurling of the Tricolour at Panchtarni by Thakur Sher Singh in the presence of officials from civil and security agencies, including  Munish Anand SP, Ashwani Hansa, Rahul Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar, Daleep Kumar,  Additional Camp Directors, representatives of Army, BSF, ITBP and all other departments stationed at base camp. They were joined by the stakeholders, Langer Association, Tent Association, Sanitation Workers, Dandi Association, Pony Walas, Pithoo Walas, and representatives of Heli operators.
