JAMMU, JAN 21: As the much-anticipated moment approaches for the consecration ceremony (Pran Pratishtha) of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Jammu resonates with an overwhelming sense of festive zeal. In the City of Temples, this Sunday witnessed a symphony of religious programs, infusing spiritual jubilation into the air, transcending the boundaries of Jammu City and reaching its outskirts.
The visual spectacle includes the flags (Dhwaj) of Lord Rama adorning homes, saffron-colored images and flags of Lord Rama along roads and flyovers, creating a religious and festive ambiance. Large screens at prominent locations, such as Ware House and Nai Basti, are set up for live telecasts of the consecration from Ayodhya.
The Tourism Department joins the festivities by offering free cable car tickets to devotees visiting Peerkho, Mahamaya, and Bahu temples on the day of the ceremony. The Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation’s gesture aims to boost Religious and Spiritual Tourism in Jammu.
Religious programs, including Ramayan recitations, bhajan kirtan, Akhshat distribution, and more, unfolded in temples throughout the city and its outskirts. The Tourism Department and Dharmarth Trust have organized special events, including Ramayana recitations, dance, music, and bhajans, adding to the grandeur of the celebrations.
The people participated in the programmes with full enthusiasm. Later, Prasad was also distributed among the devotees. The main programmes were held at Jammu’s historic Raghunath temple, Shakti Ashram of VHP, Ram Mandir, Bakshi Nagar, historic Ranbireshwar Temple, Peerkho, Mohmaya, Ram Temple at RS Pura and many other temples of Jammu where thousands of devotees participated.
The three-day religious programmes to celebrate consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of Ram Lala would be held in all the Ram Temples of J&K and will be broadcasted live.
