Srinagar, May 07: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday paid tributes to prominent Islamic scholar Mirwaiz Mir Mujahid Moulana Ahmadullah Hamadani (RA) on his 87th death anniversary.
Dr Farooq acknowledged the late Mirwaiz’s “relentless fight against autocratic rule from 1916 to 1939”. He emphasised the importance of studying the lives and works of such great men, as they have significantly contributed to the betterment of society.
The NC chief urged the younger generation to embrace the teachings of these remarkable individuals.
CM Omar also honoured Hamdani, recognising his unwavering struggle and the challenges he faced in fighting for the restoration of people’s rights. “Mirwaiz Hamdani’s legacy will be remembered for generations to come,” he said.
Party leaders, including General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami, and Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, also paid tributes to the late luminary. The leaders highlighted the significant impact of the late Mirwaiz Hamadani on society and emphasised the importance of honouring his legacy.
