Budgam, July 18: Deputy Commissioner Budgam Akshay Labroo on Tuesday said several works related to Muharram arrangements have been completed in various areas of the district.
Talking to the reporters here, the DC Budgam said, “We have already conducted various public meetings with local people and senior citizens regarding the Muhraam arrangements in various areas of the district.”
He said the executive officers from the power, R&B, PHE, and Irrigation departments have also visited various areas of the district and completed the works in those areas.
The installation of 600 streetlights for Budgam town at Old Bus Stand has been started, which provides a lot of relief to the people, he said, adding that the streetlight project was approved under KLC funds.
“The drainage construction project at Humhama Chowk under the Humahma-Mirgund integrated road project shall be carried out at all identified spots along the Humhama-Budgam route for smooth washout of drainage waters, the DC Budgam said.
Labroo said the upgradation and macadamization work of the Mirgund-Budgam road stretch have also been completed within the shortest time period which is one of the important road stretch for the Muhraam processions in Budgam district headquarters.
Chief Medical Officer of Budgam, Dr Ayoub Fateh Khan said the health department is all set to provide proper medical care facilities to the people.
“The ambulance services, medicines and manpower will be sent to those places where Muhraam processions will be carried out,” Dr Khan said.
