Srinagar, Sep 04: Tarun Chugh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary and In-Charge of J&K, on Wednesday strongly criticised the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance, describing it as an “expired injection” that cannot provide relief to J&K.
Chugh in a statement said, “The alliance between Congress and NC is like an expired injection that cannot alleviate the suffering of an ailing person. Similar alliances, such as the one during the DDC polls and the Gupkar alliance, were ineffective and failed to deliver results. This coalition lost the polls, and consequently, the people of J&K emerged victorious.”
Hitting out at NC and PDP leaders, the BJP leader said that Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti were rejected by the voters in the recent Lok Sabha elections. “Omar Abdullah lost in north Kashmir, and Mehbooba Mufti faced defeat in south Kashmir,” he said.
He warned that Abdullahs, Muftis and Gandhis would face the same fate in the upcoming assembly elections as they did in April 2024. “The defeat they experienced in April will repeat in October 2024,” he predicted.
Chugh accused the previous leadership of plunging J&K into violence and bloodshed, creating divisions among the people, and turning the region into a “terrorist capital.”
He praised Prime Minister Modi for transforming J&K into a tourist destination and said that the region is now on a path of peace, prosperity and development.
