Anantnag, Oct 31: The College of Temperate Sericulture at SKUAST-Kashmir organized a Rural Exploration Program on October 30, 2024, providing an immersive educational experience for 46 students within the rural communities of District Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir.
Coordinated by Dr. Aabid Khaliq Tantray, Dr. S.F.I. Qadri, and Dr. Younus Wani, Assistant Professors of the college, the program was structured to enhance students’ understanding of rural life and region-specific agricultural practices, with a particular emphasis on sericulture.
During the program, students engaged in interactive sessions with local farmers, gaining insights into agricultural methodologies and the challenges inherent to rural agriculture through on-the-spot awareness sessions.
By bridging academic learning with real-world applications, the Rural Exploration Program exemplifies the SKUAST-K’s commitment to make skilled professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to the Agriculture and allied sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.
