Kupwara, Nov 15: In a solemn and vibrant ceremony at the Mata Khir Bhavani Shrine in Tikker, Kupwara, two significant books, Kshir Bhavani…Tikker, Kupwara and KASHMIR…Shrines and Temples, Volume 2, were formally released. Ayushi Sudan, Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara, unveiled the books in the presence of distinguished guests, devotees, and community members.
The event celebrated Kashmir’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy, with the publications shedding light on the historical, cultural, and spiritual importance of the Valley’s revered shrines and temples. The authors’ dedication to documenting and preserving these sacred sites was lauded, with DC Kupwara emphasizing the importance of these works in fostering a deeper connection to Kashmir’s ancestral heritage.
Authored by Chander M. Bhat and co-authored by Pandit Autar Krishen Peshen, Kshir Bhavani…Tikker, Kupwara provides an in-depth exploration of the Mata Kshir Bhavani Shrine. The book chronicles the shrine’s origins, architecture, and rituals, along with the lives of saints who played pivotal roles in its legacy. Through these narratives, readers gain insight into the spiritual significance of the site and the teachings of its revered figures.
KASHMIR…Shrines and Temples, Volume 2, also written by Chander M. Bhat, is a continuation of his groundbreaking work documenting the Valley’s sacred landmarks. This second installment covers 59 additional shrines and temples, complementing the 94 sites detailed in the first volume. It highlights each site’s unique history, architectural features, and associated legends, making it a treasure trove for scholars, devotees, and cultural enthusiasts.
