Baramulla, March 09: The Municipal Council Baramulla has launched a new website to allow citizens to report issues and grievances online, a step welcomed by the citizens.
President Municipal Council Baramulla Towseef Raina told Rising Kashmir that in this digital era, it is the council’s responsibility to go digital for the welfare and betterment of the town. He said the citizens of Baramulla can now visit www.mcbaramulla.in to report issues such as the condition of marriage halls, dustbins, and sewers.
“Citizens have every right to know about all the schemes and developmental works, and this website will allow them to raise concerns and check on the progress of such works,” he said, adding that citizens can also raise corruption complaints digitally through the website.
Touseef said the council is committed to providing transparency in its functioning and improving the civic amenities of the town. “This was a long-pending demand of the youth in the town, and Alhamdulillah, it is operational now,” he said.
He said the council is working to ensure people get every kind of benefit from government schemes and developmental works.
The launch of the website has been welcomed by citizens who say it will make it easier to report issues and track progress. “It is a great initiative, and will help citizens to get their grievances redressed quickly,” said a local resident, Mohammad Iqbal.
He said the website is a positive step towards more efficient and transparent governance in Baramulla.
