Srinagar, Jan 04: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, J P Nadda is set to visit Jammu on Sunday, with a specific focus on devising a comprehensive strategy for an active campaign in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. The party aims to secure success in more than two out of the total five Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
During his day-long visit, Nadda will conduct meetings with a diverse group of party leaders, including senior functionaries, Core Group members, office bearers, Prabharis, district presidents, and Morcha heads, along with their respective Prabharis in Jammu.
The central objective of the meeting is to meticulously craft an all-encompassing strategy, intending to initiate a robust campaign in the Union Territory to secure victory in more than two Parliamentary seats.
Insiders have hinted at the BJP’s eagerness to expand its influence across the UT, especially targeting the Anantnag-Poonch constituency to fortify the party’s standing in areas where challenges were encountered during the previous Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting during Nadda’s visit will delve into multifaceted aspects of the imminent polls, discussing potential scenarios and election strategies, and seeking feedback from the party’s leadership in the UT regarding preparedness for the electoral process.
Prominent figures within the party hierarchy, including the national general secretary and Prabahri for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh UTs, Tarun Chugh, alongside co-incharge for Jammu and Kashmir, Ashish Sood, will accompany JP Nadda. The gathering will also include Union Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh, and party national secretary, Dr. Narinder Singh.
The BJP aims not only to consolidate its position in known strongholds but also to strategically target regions where it aims to strengthen its presence. The party is actively preparing at the grassroots level for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, aspiring to secure over 51 percent of the vote share in every State and Union Territory, to attain more than 400 seats to reclaim power at the Centre for a third consecutive term.
