Handwara, Sept 08: J&K Workers’ Party (JKWP) Chief Mir Junaid on Sunday once again criticised the Awami Itehad Party (AIP) for giving the mandate to Er Rashid’s younger brother in the Langate Constituency.
Addressing workers at his residence in Langate, Junaid questioned the credibility of the party, saying, “If they couldn’t even provide potable drinking water to the people, what else can they be expected to do?”
He pointed out the inconsistency in Er Rashid’s stance, saying that while Rashid had always spoken out against dynasty politics, he now seems to be endorsing it within his own family. “Er Rashid always claimed that no member of his family would contest elections after him. But now, people must question what this current situation means,” he said.
Junai took a dig at Er Rashid’s family for their “shifting positions” on key issues, such as the plebiscite in Kashmir, saying, “They once advocated for a plebiscite, but now they deny ever including it in their manifestos, which clearly shows their alignment with the BJP.”
The JKWP president also questioned the motives behind Er Rashid’s younger brother’s resignation from his teaching job to serve the people of Langate. “Could he not serve the people while being a teacher? How long will they continue to fool the people?” he asked.
He went on to claim that the AIP is closely aligned with the BJP. “If Er Rashid couldn’t speak about plebiscite and other issues he once advocated for, after his release from jail, voters should realise that their votes have been sold to the BJP,” he said.
Junaid urged the young voters of Langate to give him a chance to serve them. “Langate has never given a chance to a young leader before. It’s time for them to use their votes in my favour.” He reiterated his stance against dynasty politics and his commitment to the people of Langate.
