Jammu, Oct 26: Asserting that Jammu has suffered most without an elected government, the Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and former minister, S. Manjit Singh on Thursday said that the Apni Party has emerged as a hope for the people to address issues of the general masses.
A meeting of the Apni Party following the nomination of the party’s ward presidents / in-charges in which dozens of youths including women joined the Apni Party, a statement issued here said.
They were welcomed into the party fold by Manjit Singh, and he hoped that their joining would strengthen the party at the ground level.
In his address, the former minister said that the common man is facing multiple issues even in urban areas of Jammu and that require special attention from the authorities.
“The Apni Party understands the problem of the people in Jammu as well as in Kashmir and highlights such issues for early redressal. However, all the traditional political parties have failed to come up to the expectations of the people,” he said.
He added, “The people are left to the mercy of babus who do not care for the growing under-developmental issues, unscheduled electricity cuts, poor cleanliness, irregular clean water concerns; spike in dengue cases because of no coordination between Health Department – Jammu Municipal Corporation to deal with the growing number of dengue cases etc,” he said, adding, “The people in Jammu are the worst sufferers with the political negligence and official apathy with no hope for the redressal of their issues.”
Singh said that the Apni Party therefore has decided to expand its party roots in Jammu with the nomination of the ward Presidents/In-charges to hold on groundwork and accordingly, a policy for the welfare of the people in Jammu will be formulated by the Apni Party, he added.
