Jammu, Oct 25: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu, Women Wing, Pavneet Kour has said that the party is committed to politically empowering women in Jammu and Kashmir for social, educational and economic upliftment.
Pavneet Kour said this while addressing a meeting in Jammu South’s Tutray village in Miran Sahib. The meeting was organized by Senior Vice President, Jammu, Sunita Devi.
In the meeting, over a dozen women joined the Apni Party, an official statement issued here said. The new entrants were welcomed into the party fold by Pavneet Kour, and she hoped that their joining would strengthen the party.
In her speech, the Women Wing Provincial President Jammu referred to the policy and agenda of the Apni Party that is focused on empowering women in Jammu and Kashmir by providing them equal representation in politics.
She highlighted that the Apni Party believes in the empowerment of women by providing them with education and economic and political opportunities. “The Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari sahab has assured that if Apni Party is elected to power, we are committed to enhancing the widow, old-age, specially-abled pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000, give free of cost 4 cooking gas cylinders per year to each poor family and enhance cash assistance of Rs 50, 000 to Rs 1 lakh to the young girls for their marriage that would be released in favour of the applicants within one month,” she said.
Meanwhile, she expressed her concern over the poor development in Jammu because of poor progress in developmental projects.
