Srinagar, Nov 15: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) on Wednesday criticised Apni Party Chief Altaf Bukhari for attempting to deflect blame onto others for their own shortcomings.
The DPAP spokesperson Waseem Yaqoob in a statement responded to the recent remarks made by the Apni Party President, saying, “Mr Bukhari’s assertions regarding the purported lack of road development in Doda are not only unfounded but also seem to be a deliberate effort to evade accountability. We would like to remind him of the noteworthy tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, often acknowledged as a golden era of development.”
Yaqoob further said that it is crucial not to overlook Bukhari’s role as the R&B Minister in the PDP/BJP coalition government in 2015. “The very department responsible for roads and infrastructure development witnessed lapses under his leadership. Instead of deflecting blame towards our esteemed leader, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mr Bukhari should engage in introspection regarding his own shortcomings and the evident failures during his tenure,” he said.
The DPAP spokesperson said it is ironical that Altaf Bukhari, who founded a party in the aftermath of Article 370’s abrogation, now seeks to criticise others. His record as a minister during a critical period raises questions about his ability to fulfill promises made to the public, he said.
The Democratic Progressive Azad Party urges Bukhari to refrain from resorting to “misleading tactics” and, instead, focus on constructive efforts for the betterment of the region, the spokesperson said.
