Flight operations and traffic on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway resumed on Saturday a day after remaining cut off from the outside world due to heavy snowfall in Kashmir Valley.
Srinagar Airport on its official twitter handle informed “Snow is cleared now from runway and apron. Visibility is also good. We are starting flights now.”
Meanwhile, traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the outside world, reopened and according to the officials, light motor vehicles have been released from both ends of the thoroughfare.
The Mughal road has been closed for vehicular movement vide District Magistrate Shopian’s order from January 5 in view of snow accumulation.
