Taking a serious view of the allegations of illegal transfer of Waqf property & negligence that allegedly led to today’s fire incident at Hazratbal Srinagar, Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Monday ordered a time-bound enquiry into fire incident & its circumstances.
J&K Waqf Board Member Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem has been appointed as the head of the committee that also consists of three other members.
The order issued promptly by Waqf office today on the directions of the Waqf Chairperson further reads, “In addition to the enquiry into the complaints of negligence leading to the fire incident, the Committee shall also peruse the history of allotment of property & allegations of unauthorised transfer of the instant property, and submit its report alongwith recommendations within a period of ten days positively for perusal of the Hon’ble Chairperson and further necessary action.”
