Jammu, March 26: In line with the ongoing efforts to assess the functioning of various units, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain Wednesday visited the IRP 16th Battalion at Pernote, Ramban district.
A statement said that en-route, the ADGP paid homage at the martyrs’ memorial in Batote, Ramban, honouring martyr CT Sarfraz Ahmad, who made the ultimate sacrifice on 15th August 2022 in Srinagar. Upon arrival at the Battalion Headquarters, he was warmly received and presented with a ceremonial Guard of Honour by a contingent of the unit.
During his visit, the ADGP conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Battalion’s establishments and offices. In a special Darbar, personnel raised service-related concerns, and immediate instructions were issued to address them. Emphasising the importance of physical fitness and professional development, the ADGP urged all personnel to participate in regular refresher courses and undergo routine medical check-ups. He also cautioned against the misuse of social media, advising strict adherence to security measures such as strong passwords and two-factor authentication. Marking the occasion, the ADGP inaugurated a new Gym Centre and Battalion MI Room, encouraging officers to maintain cleanliness and actively participate in a plantation drive to enhance hygiene and environmental sustainability.
