Nodal officers nominated to provide better healthcare during Muharram

Srinagar, July 19: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir on Wednesday nominated nodal officers to provide better and hassle-free healthcare facilities to mourners during the Muharram which is starting from July 18.
As per an order issued by the health department, five nodal officers have been nominated to oversee the healthcare arrangements across Kashmir during the Muharram period.
The order said Dr Shabina Gulshan, Assistant Director has been nominated as Divisional Nodal Officer, Dr Anjum Afshan epidemiologist has been nominated Nodal Officer for Srinagar, Dr Yasmeen Kangoo, AD DHSK and Dr Arjmand Bashir, DNO, DHSK have been designated as Nodal Officers for Baramulla and Ganderbal and Dr Bashir Ahmad Khan, AD SHSK, has been nominated as Nodal Officer for Budgam.
The health department has made all the arrangements to provide better and hassle-free health care facilities for the mourners and instructions have been given to concerned officers.
The health department has directed all Chief Medical Officers to make necessary medical aid arrangements for Muharram 2023 in their respective districts as per the past practice.
Spokesperson DHSK, Dr Mir Mushtaq said after threadbare discussion on arrangements, the Chief Medical Officers were directed to keep adequate staff deployed for medical aid.
“The CMOs were directed to keep the adequate ambulatory services available loaded with all first aid equipment, as per past practice,” he said.
The CMOs except Anantnag and Ganderbal were told to provide the staff and ambulance to Chief Medical Officer Srinagar according to the past practice.
It was further decided that CMO Baramulla will direct the Block Medical Officer Tangmarg to provide two ambulances to Block Medical Officer Magam.
The director directed all CMOs to involve the NGOs in providing medical aid during the Muharram for which they will be given a certificate from the department.
In view of the Amarnath Yatra in District Anantnag and Ganderbal, the director assured the CMO Anantnag and Ganderbal that deployment of staff/ambulatory services from these two districts to District Srinagar will not be done this time.
