Srinagar, Sept 30: In a proactive move to address citizen grievances, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha engaged with the public during “LG’s Mulaqaat- Live Public Grievance Hearing” via virtual mode. These citizens were selected based on grievances submitted on J&K Integrated Grievance Redress and Monitoring System.
During this interactive session, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha promptly resolved numerous grievances raised by the applicants.
In his address to the public grievances, Lt. Governor Sinha urged Departments and District Administrations to break free from working in isolation and instead adopt a collaborative approach to resolve citizens’ issues effectively.
“The provision of accessible and high-quality public services for every citizen is our utmost priority. The overall disposal rate on JKIGRAMS has surged to an impressive 97 per cent, highlighting the increased institutional trust among the people,” stated Lt. Governor Sinha.
He emphasized the importance of not only acknowledging current accomplishments but also striving to establish a robust system for the future.
In response to a complaint by Sajad Ahmad Sheikh from Ganderbal regarding damage to the Government Primary School building at Pethpora Khanan, the Lt. Governor directed the Principal Secretary School Education and Director School Education to ensure that no school operates in a dilapidated structural condition.
Addressing the issue of inadequate health staff at a dispensary in Dugga Arnas area of Reasi, the Lt. Governor instructed the Director Health Services to conduct a comprehensive assessment of health staff distribution in the region and submit a report within a week.
Bilal Dar from Anantnag drew attention to the non-functional Filtration Plant at Logripora Pahalgam. Lt. Governor Sinha directed the Deputy Commissioner to submit a report on the matter and stressed that government assets should not remain dormant but should be utilized for the welfare of the people.
Responding to a grievance about sewage water overflow during rainfall in the old town Kishtwar, the Lt. Governor was informed by the ADDC that the matter had been brought to the attention of the Municipal Council and other relevant agencies. The Lt. Governor urged officials to proactively address such issues in real-time.
Lt. Governor Sinha also asked an update on the actions taken by the District Administration and various departments regarding the directives issued during the previous LG’s Mulaqaat. Additionally, he inquired about the status of pending requests for old age and widow pensions, as well as other social welfare schemes on a district-wise basis.
Later in the meeting, Lt. Governor Sinha reviewed the arrangements made by various Departments and District Administrations in preparation for Gandhi Jayanti and upcoming events on October 1st and 2nd.

As many as 3,53,008 applications have been received on JKIGRAMS, with 3,43,484 successfully resolved, resulting in an impressive overall disposal rate of 97 per cent till date, he added.
Among others the meeting was attended by Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary; R K Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department; Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lt. Governor; Administrative Secretaries; Divisional Commissioners; Deputy Commissioners; SSPs; HoDs; and other senior officers, both in person and via virtual mode.
