SRINAGAR, SEP 15: The Administrative Council (AC), under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has granted approval for the implementation of the Second National Judicial Pay Commission (SNJPC) in favor of Judicial Officers.
In attendance at the meeting were Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary of J&K, and Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor.
The SNJPC implementation will benefit Judicial Officers who held permanent or temporary posts in the Jammu & Kashmir State Subordinate Judiciary as of January 1, 2016. It will also extend to Judicial Officers appointed against any post in the Subordinate Judiciary from January 1, 2016, up to the date of issuance of Jammu & Kashmir Subordinate Judicial (Revised) Pay Rules, 2023 (Implementation of Second National Judicial Pay Commission), as well as those appointed to such posts in the future.
This implementation is analogous to the 7th Pay Commission and is estimated to have a financial impact of approximately Rs. 75.38 Crore.
