Srinagar, May 03: A five-day “Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp (Phase III) organized by AICTE and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell concluded on Friday at the SSM College of Engineering in Baramulla district. During the valedictory function, mementoes and certificates were distributed among guests, expert speakers and participants.
Prof (Dr) M.A. Shah, Head Department of Physics NIT Srinagar was the chief guest on the occasion and Dr Elangovan Kariappan, Assistant Innovation Director, Innovation Cell, Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India was Guest of Honour besides senior functionaries and HODs of the College were also present on the occasion.
Before the function, 13 innovative ideas pitched by different groups of students from across the country were evaluated by a team of following experts/judges from NIT Srinagar, MSME, University of Kashmir and local experts from Wadhwani Foundation: –
Dr Saad Parvez, Associate Professor NIT Srinagar, Dr Ishtiyaq Hussain Qureshi, Associate Professor, Business School, University of Kashmir. Dr Danish Ahmad, Associate Professor, NIT Srinagar, Dr Irfana Rasheed, Business School, University of Kashmir, Dr Tariq Ahmad Lone, Associate Professor, Business School, University of Kashmir, Mr Bilal Ahmad Khan, CEO of PetKash and Mr Saheel Allaqband, Assistant Director MSME.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the arrangements made by SSM College of Engineering as Nodal Centre for the conduct of IDE Boot Camp Phase-III and he stressed upon the need for holding such events frequently in order to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship culture among the students.
