Pulwama, July 10: With the support of the district administration and local residents, the migrant Kashmiri Pandit community congregated at the temple of the 18th-century mystic saint Brahmarishi Swami Guru Maharaj Jeewan Sahib in Ladhoo village, Pulwama, to observe Vyasa Purnima after a gap of 35 years.
Scores of devotees from different parts of the country thronged the temple, where special puja rituals were performed, and a havan was held to mark the sacred occasion.Raj Kumar, a devotee, said that members of the local Pandit community originally from Ladhoo, now settled across India, had assembled at their ancestral temple to pay obeisance.“It is a wonderful feeling to return to our native village after 35 years,” he remarked, adding that all the Pandits hailing from the village had come together to observe Vyasa Purnima with devotion.He also expressed appreciation for the district administration and local community for their wholehearted support.The religious event was organized by the Swami Jeevan Sahib Baradari Religious Trust.Ravi Ji Bhat, General Secretary of the Swami Jeewan Sahib (Dhoni Sahab) Mandir Prabandhak Trust, warmly welcomed all participants, especially those returning after decades of migration.He conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the district administration for their extensive support and assistance in organizing the event.“This occasion highlights the spiritual significance of the Guru-Shishya Parampara and the eternal teachings of sage Ved Vyasa,” he said.
Renowned religious scholar Pandit Radhe Dass Ji, along with others, shared profound reflections on the spiritual legacy of Swami Jeewan Sahib, emphasizing his message of universal peace and divine wisdom. The event underscored the revival of this important pilgrimage and the continuation of ancient spiritual traditions after decades.
