Doda, May 05: A felicitation ceremony was held to honour the remarkable performance of J&K Bank branches across District Doda for their outstanding role in implementing various Government Sponsored Schemes aimed at empowering youth, boosting self-employment, and promoting sustainable development.

The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and attended by Zonal Head J&K Bank Arshad Qadri, XEN PDD, officials from the District Industries Centre (DIC), Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), NRLM, and successful branch heads of J&K Bank. The initiative celebrated the dedication of the banking sector in extending timely financial support under major welfare programmes.

During the event, Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to the branch heads who demonstrated exceptional performance in implementing schemes such as the Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP), Artisan Credit Card (ACC), Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), PM Vishwakarma, and PM Suryaghar. These schemes have significantly contributed to employment generation, women empowerment, promotion of micro-enterprises, and the adoption of clean energy solutions in rural areas. DC Doda appreciated the commitment of J&K Bank and assured full cooperation from district administration and line departments for smooth scheme execution.

Zonal Head Doda Arshad Qadri, in his address, highlighted the proactive approach of the bank in

supporting local entrepreneurship and rural development. He informed that more than Rs 111 crore has been disbursed under various schemes in the last financial year. Notably, Zone Doda now leads in agricultural financing across the region, a testament to the bank’s grassroots outreach and efficient service delivery. He also emphasized the importance of financial literacy, encouraging more citizens to avail benefits of government initiatives.
